Madtown Halloween Celebration - Too Wild!
Halloween Arrests - Yahoo! News
Like a fine meal at Ruth's Chris, or a long vacation spend with close friends, all good things must come to an end. As such, because of the crackdowns on partying on State Street, fraternity houses no longer having wild parties, and I will be damn near 30 next year - this is the last time I will party in Madison for Halloween (unless I happen to go to grad school there, that's different).
So this year we went all out. Things were pretty hairy leading up to the event however. I got calls from all the guys I went with last year who said they couldn't go. One guy even had a lame excuse that he is getting married... please. Then I got a false report that the guys I was planning to stay with this year (and whose place we trashed last year) were going to be out of town. On top of that, I heard TKE - Lambda chapter was not going to throw a huge party like they have in the past. You know what that means - NO FRESHMEN CHICKS!!! Add to that the false report that the City of Madison was going to totally close down State Street partying, and I was seriously considering not going at all. However, when one of my buddies from Duke got on board, I knew we could make something out of nothing.
One I arrived in Madison, by way of O'Hare, I got the real scoop. Yes, no TKE party and no underage girls. However, partying at the bars is still on, and we assembled a new crew of Tekes from Wash U. Two of them are below.

Here we have Sam Adams, Kenneth Lay, and the Abbott - ready to throw down Shaolin style. After shuttling across town between pre-parties, we made it to a bar called State Street Brats. Here I met a lot of cool girls, and got real drunk. Sam Adams did well too.

Now of course, this guy is pretty quiet - but with a little confidence, you can at least get women to hang out with you. Game gets you the rest of the way.
At Brats there was a lot of hugging people I didn't know, some dirty dancing, and just some awesome people unwinding after many tough weeks of classes and work. There was even a group of four girls dressed like bumblebees led by a birthday girl. And in honor of her birthday, I made out with three of the four (the forth got some beads from me). One of the girls was pretty much down to bone - but she was not what I would call Madison material. So, proving once again that I can make good decisions - I let her go and went to Lava Lounge to meet my friend from Duke.
There the quality was higher, and my Duke friend, Birdman, was making a valient effort to get girls to the afterparty. (He managed to get four girls to come back with us.) I. on the other hand, was falling deeper into a state of inebriation I haven't experienced since, well, last Halloween and it was just bad. You can see for your self.

With red eyes, a dirty smile, and my hands everywhere - I can't understand how I still looked attractive to this girl. C'est la vie.
Right around 3am Daylight savings time we headed back to Birdman's place with his buddy and girlfriend, four cute girls, and two douchbags in tow. One of the girls I started hitting on at the pad was this cute Fillipino grad student who was dressed like a naughy librarian. Yummy. Unfortunately, instead of doing body shots, we started discussing music and opera. Then when some strange crap started playing on the stereo - she goes, and I quote,"Hmm, this is interesting. And what genre of music does this fall into?" Ahh, sonofabitch. Anytime a girl correctly uses "genre" in a sentence after 3am, she is not going to have sex. Soon after that she mercilessly says she has to go and takes her girlfriend with her. Birdman and I walk the girls home trying to make something happen, but to no avail.
Things worked out better with the last two. It just goes to show you it pays to hit on twenty girls in one night. You may get interest from sixteen, four will come back with you, and one might actually be interested in doing someting. Of course, I'm joking. The ratios are never that clean...
All in all, a good time and an end of an era. Thank you Madison, Madtown, Buckyland - you will always be the wild city of the North to me!
And of course, there is a picture album.
