Would you pay $100k for a four door Porsche hatchback?
I'm a car freak, and I spend too much time keeping up with auto industry news. This will be my first of many car articles to come here on Coletrain's blog.
Porsche is getting ready to introduce its new Panamera, which is a four door coupe similar to Mercedes-Benz's CLS. It will most likely possess a >380 bhp 4.8L V8 engine (the same engine in the 2008 Cayenne) and an optional >500 bhp turbo charged V8. Regardless, my attention was drawn to its rear end:

I like the front of the car, as it looks like a Porsche should, but I don't quite understand why they chose to go with a hatchback design for such an expensive car. Mercedes did a wonderful job with the CLS's rear end. Perhaps Porsche's designers didn't know what to do with a car that fuses the Cayenne SUV and the 911 together. I think for a >$100,000 asking price, a standard trunk should have been employed. It turns a beautiful car into something like a cross between a station wagon and an SUV. I'm sure it's quite practical, but it's not nearly as sleek as the lines on its primary competitor. Let's just hope they put real aluminum and wood into the car for the asking price, unlike the current 911 which employs silver plastic to achieve the "sporty look".

I'm with the Dr. D-R-E, "I'd never pay more than $100K for something that doesn't have a toilet!"
